Experiences from practice: In conversation with Martine Schrage, GP at arzo

Martine Schrage is one of the early adopters, and attended the first training course ‘The Power of Positive Health’ in the Droomgaard. She thinks the spider web is a powerful tool. We asked her to say a bit more about it.

‘The spider web is really a magical tool for me. It can transform a difficult consultation into a nice and helping conversation. What I love is that it is so easy to use. You can use it directly in a consultation without any training. I have experienced that myself.’

So you always had a tear-off pad ready and waiting on your desk?

‘Yes, exactly. As soon as I noticed that I felt those ‘heart-sink-patient-signals’ coming up, I knew it was time to grab the spiderweb. The efficiency of this simple tool never ceases to amaze me. It really changes the whole atmosphere of the conversation and even of the room.’

That sounds impressive. So you’ve been a fan of it for years?

‘Absolutely. And when I attended the extensive training at the Droomgaard, it only strengthened my belief in the incredible power of the Positive Health philosophy.’

You would like to do more with it, I understand?

‘Yes, I would. I would love to do a lot more with the spider web and Positive Health, but I also realise that things need time to develop at their own pace. That doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm, quite the contrary. It is a work of longevity and patience. There is a lot of beauty in that too.’
